Terms of Service for ScribbleScan

1. Acceptance of Terms

By using ScribbleScan (the “App”), you agree to these Terms of Service.

These Terms work together with the applicable platform terms:

• iOS: Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement (https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/)
• Android: Google Play Terms of Service (https://play.google.com/intl/en_us/about/play-terms/)

If there’s a conflict, the platform terms take precedence.

2. What ScribbleScan Does

ScribbleScan lets you scan documents using your camera and extract text using OCR (optical character recognition). Your documents are stored locally on your device. When you perform OCR, images are temporarily sent to our service for processing and immediately deleted - we don’t keep copies of your documents.

3. Subscriptions

How It Works

• Subscriptions provide monthly OCR quotas (number of pages you can process)
• Quotas reset monthly on your renewal date
• Your subscription is tied to your device and may not transfer to other devices
• All billing is handled through the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android)

Billing

• Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before renewal
• You’ll be charged within 24 hours before each renewal period

Cancellation and Refunds

• Cancel anytime through your App Store or Google Play account settings
• Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period
• For refunds, contact Apple Support (iOS) at https://reportaproblem.apple.com or Google Play Support (Android)
• Refund policies are governed by the App Store or Google Play terms

Price Changes

We may change subscription prices. Price changes won’t affect your current subscription but will apply when you renew.

4. Your Responsibilities

You agree to:

• Use the App only for lawful purposes
• Not reverse engineer or attempt to extract the App’s source code
• Not abuse the OCR service through automated requests or quota circumvention
• Not share or resell your subscription

5. Ownership

You own your documents and scanned content. We own the App software and all related intellectual property.

6. Privacy

Your privacy is important. Please read our Privacy Policy at https://scribblescan.com/privacy/ to understand how we handle your data.

7. Disclaimers

THE APP IS PROVIDED “AS IS” WITHOUT WARRANTIES. We don’t guarantee:

• The App will be error-free or always available
• OCR accuracy (it varies based on image quality and handwriting)
• Compatibility with all devices or OS versions

8. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID IN THE PAST 12 MONTHS.

Some jurisdictions don’t allow these limitations, so they may not apply to you.

9. Termination

You can stop using the App anytime (remember to cancel your subscription through the App Store or Google Play to stop charges). We may terminate your access if you violate these Terms or for other legitimate reasons.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be posted in the App with an updated date. Continued use means you accept the changes.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by California law. For billing or refund disputes, follow the App Store or Google Play dispute process.
